Frequently asked questions
Who are We?
We are a volunteer based mission. We accept gently used clothing and misc. donations(NO FURNITURE OR ANIMALS) from people through our office located at 204 w 3rd Street (which is the rear of the same building our store is located in). We sort through these items and sell the things we can, while passing on some things we can't, to other missions within Dent and surrounding counties.
How we help community?
Our resale shop located at 203 W 4th Street sells items like clothing, knickknacks, kitchen wares, toys, and more at a discounted and affordable rate, which is helpful to those in our community that may not normally be able to afford some of these items.
We help people who have had a fire, or been in other situations that cause them to need basic household items or clothing for free.
What we do?
We give out food and hygiene items. We assist with utility bills, rent, and on occasion medicine or fuel. We have also supplied people with A/C units and heaters, that were donated to the store. While we are self sufficient, by just receiving item donations we are able to pay our bills, stock our food pantry, and help some others with funds, but on occasion we do have to turn someone away due to no funds available.
How can you help us make a difference?
You may wonder what could you do to help? You could shop at our surplus store and tell your friends about it. You could donate your gently used items(clothes, kitchen items, linens, bed sheets blankets, toys, ***EVERYTHING EXCEPT - large furniture items or animals. You could volunteer your time and or skills. Currently we are open Wednesday to Friday 10- 3 ( I would like to add to these hours). You could help all week, one day a week, or even just a couple hours each week. We need sorters, pricers, stockers, cashiers, people to straighten racks and shelves, cleaning. Or you could donate funds to help us help more people.
